Clampett at his best?
Quite a quill he pulled out from.
Legolas ain't got nothing on Bobby, aye Smeagol?
Holy CRAP.
That's nuts.
Are you sure that isn't Hogan with a perm???
Where'd u get that?
-Paul
That might be even more extreme than Hogan...

Birdie Man,

Yoda posted a great Homer Kelley analysis of Clampett's swing on Brian's site.
BamBam,
Thanks...I have a copy of the unedited version that was submitted to the magazine...It's really COOL!!! I played 18 holes with Bobby and have had a few conversations with him...He's got great insight and stories of the game.

My post in Bambam's link above includes
both the edited and the original version (beneath each photo).
Master Yoda,
Awesome...The guys will really appreciate it...I'll try to post more...I have down the plane sequences as well...I'll see if I can get the pictures smaller.
Skywalker
After reading the edited version on another site, seeing the unedited version was very cool. I'd love to see down the line shots.
Zoinks!!!!!
Posterboy for #2 Lag. Dr. Skywalker is that something you would try to teach? Big trigger delay? Advantage/Disadvantages? Or is that just something you got or ain't got?
I eat way too much BBQ and Fried Okra to look like that. But I bet I can lag a fork better than him!!!!!!!!!!
Bucket,
The secret is in the Top Arc/Straight line or in this case TopArc /Angled Line....to set up Lonitudinal Acceleration of the sweetspot plane and a wrist throw trigger type and snap release...And yes , I can drag like this ...I'm still waitin for you in the Creek...learn to drag/lag all your silverware...right forearm tracing done best with a knife!!!
Notice the "Slightly Closed Stance Line as recommended by the 3rd Editon for a Full Pivot Stroke Pattern in Chapter 12-4-0!! #4 Power accumulator - Left Arm Parallel to the hips and knees and the Delivery Line( 4th edition, 2-J-3-D). Check out Right Elbow Location to Right Hip!!! Personally, I think camera is slightly out of position

I plan to get the full immersion in the Creek soon . . . barring child #2. Do Top Arc and Straight Line 10-23-C and Top Arc and Angled Line require a Backstroke that is completed at End vs. Top? Also, is the Longitudinal Acceleration like drawing an arrow form a quiver horizontally and then getting the right shoulder going down plane via tilt?
What kinda Q do y'all eat down east?
Another great picture man...the DTL (down the line) view
Again, looks like The Hawk.
Love it...that's the way to do it if you ask me. If he had a similar clubface control technique to Hogan then man...he basically is Hogan.

Here....take another "drag"...

I absolutely love the hands to chest relationship here
THIS is "keeping the spoke straight" - the hands and chest moving through together - "connection" - a "synchronized" motion.
Great photo of a great motion - Thanks annikan
wanole...my friend
Just using the language of TGM...
Read 10-19-C, 10-23-C/D, 10-20-E, 4-D-0
Perhaps that might explain better!
Cheers!

PS The Silverware comment was intentionally for the Bucket!!!

Well said Skywalker. I am a huge fan of 7-23. Homer was a wise man.
It's gonna happen really soon!!!! Stay tuned!!!!
Per 10-20-E WRIST THROW Here the Right Hand remains palm up to the Plane during the Uncocking of the Left Wrist to produce a Sequenced Release per 2-G and 4-D-0. Especially compatible with Swinging.
Interesting that his Right Elbow seems to be in more a 10-3-A PUNCH position. A "down-and-at-the-side" position. I would have expected more of a 10-3-B position - a more "down-and-in-the-front" Elbow Position.
He wouldn't necessarily have Maximum Trigger Delay in #1 but would in #2 right? Since the elbow doesn't look like it would pass the line of site.
Could this be Hitting? Or is it Swinging from Punch Elbow?
And still he hasn't rotated his shoulders. Most of us would be looking deep down the fairway by now.

- Well the old days, anyway
btw- I got the bench- i want the guid
Anyone have any video clips of Clampett's swing that they could post?
Post removed, really cant be bothered arguing
What a joke....
Ahahahahhahahahahahahahaha.
Ahahahahhahahahha.

Ahahahahahhahaha.
Yeah, I agree.... what a joke...Clampett as a Freshman at BYU was one of the best ball stikers in the world...not to mention one of the best players....It was all that "lag pressure" that allowed a liittle guy to be the longest player pound per pound in his era!!!

Can someone up with Bobby's stats during this period (late 70's early 80's)....I use to be a member of "PGA TOUR PARTNERS" during the mid-90's and the driving stat on Bobby (Received stats cards on tour players from the TOUR PARTNERS) was average driving distance with something like 256 yds (it was a weak power stat like Pavin).....I was pretty disappointed seeing that stat....I wasn't a golf fan during the late 70s and early 80s but would be interested in reading articles on Bobby's accomplishments during this period (late 70s and early 80s).
DG
1980 266.6
1981 265
1982 261.3
1983 257.6
1984 259
1985 263.1
As for the pound for pound, he may, may, like he is current 171 lbs, don't know what he was in 80, be in the top 10, but he was by no way the number 1. Chi Chi at a 130 was averaging over 250 and he was no college kid...
Nice motion. Second to last frame is where I see the 'low fade' move most clearly.
Not sure what the dealio is here.
But I can say this, Annikan bombs it. His swing is pretty damn pure - even for a MORAD guy.
There is only one pic in that sequence anyone needs to look at. Frame 6. Impact. Pure. Look at the shaft reflexing back towards the target.
Trust me, he bombs is.
As for Clampett, pro's used to watch the 16 year old because of the sound the ball made off the clubface. Does anymore need to be said?
Now...
Lets just get along gentlemen - your posts are a reflection of YOU. Dont mean to sound holier then thou, but I cant believe my first thread back is an argument about Bobby with some flames thrown in.
Be back later.
