Hand Throw

Anyone got any ideas on this??? I can execute all of the throws except this one...

Is it more compatible to Hitting?

If it is ...that's why I struggle with it...I like to Swing!!!!

The Peter Croker Hit... uses a hand throw. As I recall, he has several drills, and feels to help get the idea. From the Top... feel as if you Push the clubhead(with both hands) past your hands at impact, with what he calls a delayed pivot. The momentum of the Push, pulls you around to the finish.

I went through about a three day training session with him (with several other teachers) about 10 years ago. I could HIT it very well for a while after, until I overanalyzed it.

Not recommended. You see the hand throw a milliion times with your teaching I believe.

You with me?

Patrick
Philly....

Hand Throw with Throwaway...

Yes....

Hand Throw that still maintains the Flat left wrist....

I've seen a few times....

Like this kid from England that I teach...

His Impact and Hinge Action are good!!!

Just interested in hearing MORE ideas on it...

Look forward to our next conversation...

Hope all is well!!!

Would you say that Darren Clarke is a good model for your teaching?

DRW
I don't teach it...

this kid does it

...sucessfully....

I try to fit the student with triggers that are compatible with their stroke pattern and that they can execute...

This is probably the ONLY kid that I teach with "Successful Hand Throw Triggering"

How is a Hand Throw, 10-20-A, different from The Right Shoulder Throw, 10-20-B when used by a Hitter?

Since we use Educated Hands -- wouldn't some Hand Throw action seep into any or all 'throws?'

In your students stroke picture, is he Hitting? He seems to have little acc 2 and 3 in the pic.

mike
Yes...He's Hitting

He "triggered" at the begining of Start Down

I feel that the primary difference is if there is overlap or not!!!

A Hand Throw has very little thrust from the Pivot and this Pivot is delayed...

A Shoulder turn throw 10-20-C is a very sharp acceleration that lends itself toward trigger delay...

I could be wrong...I''ve been waiting on a response from Master Yoda..

But to No avail...

Perhaps No interest?

6B...What insight might you shed?

There is a teaching pro... Top 100 I believe, that teaches a Hand Throw, as far as I can tell. David Glenz is his name. I once saw his own Swing(Stroke) on film. It looked very similar to your student's pattern.

Croker's Hit Basics video I feel is a good example. The hands are active from the top and the pivot is delayed. He wants the body back and up against a "stable base" which he demos with the sledgehammer drill. BTW, I don't see this in the photo included with this topic.

Me shed light? I traded in the light saber for a blaster, remember, LOL.

Hitters do have short compact pivots, but I think the Hand Throw is still a swingers move since accumulators are spent in gradual sequence. It is listed early so that may mean something. I have so much to learn about triggers, even if I do use a blaster.

sorry.

btw- I had to gallop out of dodge before the 'cane weather caught me in my little car. Lets try again soon.

my best- mike
Annikan,

Man he looks even better in still frame!

As I recall I learned something about how his divots changed with ball position.

What a great chipper too.

Thanks for the pic.
