I'm working on the concepts of hitting. I'm hitting rocket lasers with my driver. I'm focusing on a short as possible backswing. That really enables me to truly drive at the ball. My problem has been that lately I've hit a few too many irons a little chunky. I've felt my body slide a little toward the target(an old bad habit) on a few of the misses. I don't know if that is a contributing or sole factor. Help anyone?

Sliding forwards on the downswing is more likely to cause you to thin the ball or just plain skull it.
Flipping the right wrist in an attempt to add power to the shorter swing is probably your bete noir.
Make sure you are still getting your hands far enough foward. Aim those hands outside of your left shoe at impact from your view.
The more you don't get your hands far enough foward the more the club will bottoom out too soon.
I helped my buddy in a middle of the round when he whined about hitting it fat.
Setup with a 'level' left wrist . It immediately helped him.( for a hitter, setup with a rehearsed impact position)
Bobbing and swaying is caused my improper alignments. because you want to compensate .
That was his problem. duno if it helps .. that sounds too beginner for you isn't it?
