I'm just wondering, is Fred Couples address and swing "acceptable" in TGM?
Isn't his body open to the target line at address? And isn't he just hitting a PUSH shot to the target?
I read in the Alex Hay book that if he (Hay) didn't line up perfectly square, he would prefer to err with an open stance at address, rather than closed. Is this okay? He would still swing along the target line.
there is nothing in the book that prevents you from setting up open...look at lee trevino for validation

Freddie's swing is more than acceptable. You will see tour players who line up open, square or closed. Ben Hogan's stance was slightly closed when using a driver, while Lee Trevino has an open stance.
I've heard it makes it so he can't swing too far to the right.
