Ed,

Jay and I have been 'texting' over Song-Hee's great showing. I'll find out about Kingsmill and get back to you.

I didn't realize it until today, but Song-Hee's previous best (68 ) in an LPGA event was last year at Kingsmill. I dare say she'll be back. And I may be there as well!

Meanwhile, here is an excerpt from the second round notebook at the Fields Open in Hawaii:
Kim cards career-low, ties tournament record. Song-Hee Kim, in her second year on the LPGA Tour, carded a career-low 8-under-par 64 during the second round of the Fields Open in Hawaii. Added to her first-round 69 where she was tied for 16 th and five strokes behind the leader, Kim is now in second place at 11-under-par 133, just one stroke behind 36-hole leader Jeong Jang (64-68=132, -12). She carded three of her final five holes of the first round, then remained bogey-free through the second round with eight birdies. Her shortest putt of the day was an eight foot putt on the par-4, 366-yard third hole and converted on a 30-foot putt on the par-4, 412-yard seventh hole. Other birdie putts were: 10 feet on the first and fifth holes; 12 feet on the par-5, 470-yard 14 th hole; 20 feet on the sixth and 10 th holes and an eighth birdie on the par-4, 356-yard 17 th hole. Kim's 64 is four strokes better than her previous career-low of 4-under-par 68, which she carded in the second round of the 2007 Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill.
Birds flying . . . indeed!
