Arnold Palmer Invitational / PGA TOUR / March 13-16, 2008

Congrats to Brian Gay -- the only LBG player in the field -- on his fine 68 in today's 3rd round. Presently, he is 2-under par for the tournament and T34 on rounds of 70-71-68=209.

Saturday is 'moving day' on the PGA TOUR, and Brian got it done (up 18 spots)!

His ball striking was very consistent: He hit 85 percent of the fairways and 72 percent of the greens. His scrambling percentage was off his normal at only 25 percent (his average for the year is 63.71 percent). With another up-and-down or two, this excellent round would have been truly spectacular.

Whoa!

Tough afternoon for the TOUR folk.

Brian's 3rd round 68 has moved him to T25, up 24 spots on Moving Day . . .

And five shots back of T1:
  • Sean O'Hair;
  • Bart Bryant;
  • V.J. Singh;
  • Bubba Watson; and
  • Tiger Woods.
Tiger who?

Go Brian!

Yes - I noticed his really accurate stats for GIR and fairways... nice play!
Good luck for Sunday... "paying day"!

PS. Brian's 3 wood was getting some attention few weeks ago on Bombsquadgolf.com ( a guy does well so they think it must be the arrows rather than the indian or the indian's archery coach - if USA please read "indian" as "native american" )
I'm going down to Bay Hill Today,looking forward to seeing Brian in action ..and maybe have a look at this Tiger bloke.
Brian has made the turn at +1 for the day and even par for the tournament. Currently T33.
In this limited field event (120 players / $5.8 million), Brian Gay today finished T21 on rounds of 70-71-68-70=279. He earned $51,620 and 223 FedEx Cup points (he's now #22).

Congrats, Brian!

Congrats to Brian and Lynn on another good placement. That Tiger guy is simply off the charts. Something like the Bucket.
