This is one of the world's great jazz sounds: Bill (piano) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Evans, Chuck Israels (on bass http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Israels replacing the tragic Scott LaFaro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_LaFaro and Larry Bunker, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Bunker for the classic Paul Motian (drums) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Motian.

P.S. As I continue to listen to Efnef's great link and whatever else it skips to -- what's happening here? Waltz For Debby with a new crew and in German with an obviously popular singer and a compliant Bill making it happen. My music box has a mind of its own! -- the language changes, the beat picks up and the vocalist exits -- but the 'blue notes' remain . . . viva la difference!
Here's a nightcap for tonight with Bill's last great trio featuring Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbara.
