Straight Path and Flywheel

Homer suggested the straight path for swingers yet how is that compatible when the right shoulder should spin like a flywheel???
I wonder if it is recommended because it is compatible with the zero plane angle variation also advised.
yes, can someone with more TGM knowledge please give an answer?

In 12-2-0 Me Kelley offers his basic pattern for swinging. He lists The Power Package Delivery Path, Component 23, as C i-straight line. If you look at 10-23-C, you will see a description of the Delivery Path from the End to the Top (the arc portion) and from the Top to the Release ( the straight line portion).

The straight line can be appreciated from a "down-the-line" perspective. With Zero Plane Shift, the players hands move in a straight line from the Top through Relese, Impact to Low Point.

The Right Shoulder motion/action does not interfere with the Straight Line Delivery Path of the Hands as the shoulder moves down the Turned Shoulder Plane.

From a "face-on" perspective, a Straight Line Delivery Path can also be appreciated from the Top to Release Point. This straight line lies on the face of the Plane Angle (Turned Shoulder Plane).

I hope this helps.
