Standard hip turn vs. Slide hip turn

Why is slide hip turn recommended over standard hip turn for swingers basic pattern in the 7th edition. In the 6th edition it lists standard hip turn.

Component matching. I don't have my 7th edition nearby, but didn't the shoulder turn component switch to rotated?

(staying in the 6th)
It did kev good point! Classifications can be a hard thing especially with golf! Homer was faced with an extremely difficult task in classifying the variations. for my swing, I will use my own variation of a mix of standard hip turn, for the backstroke and slide hip turn for the downstroke.

OPTIONS!

Whatever you are doing Whip, it's working. Keep making your swing yours! It's really been fun watching you become a master of the book. I'm more than a little jealous!

According to the Mr. K's concept of the Parallel Pivot all motion including the Pivot and Hip Slide is to be PARALLEL to the selected Delivery Line. So if the player is adhering to the 10-5-A True Geometric Plane Line the Hip Slide (hula hula) is On-Line. But if the player is using the 10-5-E Angle of Approach Delivery then the Hip Slide/Pivot is CROSS-LINE out to right field.

That is the geometry. That is the beauty of Mr. K's 2-J-3 Plane Line Equivalents . . . all motion adheres to the delivery line.
